In July 2011, Mark started Lotus Construction Group and is proud to be working with his team of highly-skilled craftsmen to create and renew living spaces specializing in restorations, additions, remodels, renovations, and outdoor spaces. Mark values the one-on-one relationship he builds with his clients based on honesty and trust, and prides himself on providing the highest level of customer service and attention to detail. 

Mark studied architecture at Cal Poly Pomona from 1984 to 1987.  With three years of design training in hand, he decided to work as a tradesman from 1987 -1994; first as an apprentice, and eventually a master tile-setter. 

In 1994 Mark started a partnership to build and operate The Press Restaurant in Claremont, which he built using largely recycled materials.  After building The Press, he and his partners operated the restaurant.  However, given Mark's true love of construction, in 1997 he chose to leave The Press to work for a custom stainless steel company, supervising the construction of several large and small restaurants.  Although the work was challenging, he found that working one-on-one with homeowners helping them achieve their dream living spaces was truly his most rewarding work. 

As such, Mark decided to put his skills as a true craftsman to work, and chose a position as a Lead Carpenter, and thereafter, Project Manager, for an award-winning design/build firm in Claremont, where he worked from 1999 to July, 2011; he was in charge of a wide range of projects including a ground-up custom home, ground-up studio, small and large remodels, restorations and additions.  Mark was part of a team that won a national award for "Best of the Year Remodel" in Remodeling Magazine dated September 2004.
