Here, we started out with a blank slate and created a serene Asian-inspired woodland retreat where you listen to the bamboo rustling in the breeze by the trickling waterfall. Mark and his crew hand-collected local river rock for the walls, fire pit and waterfall. The pergola and gate were Mark’s own design, using hidden hardware and select dense Douglas Fir; the mosaic path leads to a deck made from Kayu, a sustainably-harvested Brazilian hardwood. All wood was finished with hand-rubbed oil, to maintain the natural beauty of the wood.
